18 September – Kawan Kita: In conversation with Sabine Bolk at Galeri TokoKita in Singapore
18 Sep 2022, 4PM – 5PM
Following the successful inaugural regional batik seminar in 2021, Jauh Dikenang Dekat Disayang is back this year! Jauh Dikenang Dekat Disayang, co-organised with Galeri Tokokita, celebrates batik in the region in the month of August – a special month where Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia celebrate their independence. What better way to celebrate this than to share our love for batik.
Kawan Kita: In conversation with Sabine Bolk at Galeri TokoKita in Singapore – 18 Sep 2022, 4PM – 5PM
Many said that artists can create works with senses and intuition while researchers use systems and logic to analyse patterns. We could not be more wrong! Dutch artist-researcher Sabine Bolk, who is based in Utrecht, will be here in Singapore to share about her batik journey and insights on how much art actually overlaps with research in batik and its fashion.
